Prepare for Your Online Appointment

Prepare for Your Online Appointment

Online sessions can be tiring, so it’s important to take a few moments for yourself. Try to stretch or step outside for some fresh air before or after each session to create a clear break between activities.

As there is no commute to and from the clinic, it’s especially important to prepare yourself beforehand. Taking this time to get ready both mentally and physically can help you feel more focused and engaged during the session.

We strongly advise that you log in to your Oaktree Connect portal using the email address you registered with a few days before your appointment. This will help ensure everything runs smoothly and give you time to familiarise yourself with your Oaktree portal space.

On the Day of The Appointment

Where will you sit?

Think about place in your home you could sit comfortably and uninterrupted for the time of the session. Sitting in a chair can help you concentrate better.

Adjust the Light

The practitioner will need to see you properly, Sit with your back against a wall not a window with a source of light in the room.

Negotiate an uninterrupted time

Where possible, ask others in your household not to interrupt you during your session. Closing the door may help, even when you are alone.

Stabilise Your Device

Place your laptop or phone on a table at the level of your face as the doctor needs to see you throughout the assessment. Holding your device in your hand or on your lap makes it unstable.

Turn off or silence your mobile

This is the same as you would usually do in a session turn off your mobile, minimise notifications on your devices wherever possible and turn the volume down on landlines.

What should I show my of my room?

You may wish to consider the background that will be visible during your session. By using a plain background with minimal distractions can help feel comfortable and maintain privacy.
